Clearly, a K12 school or a school district needs an institutional directive and institutional support in order to systematically post homework on the web. Even when teachers do show individual initiative, the results are a morass of inconsistent web presentations. So the current situation, in which the district is 20 years behind the times in the way that it assigns homework, is an institutional failure.

The only reason I have this website is that I choose to pay for it on my own. The district does not provide support for teacher sites. This is the reason why so many of my colleagues no longer have sites. Last year’s furlough and the rising cost of life with no pay increase has hit us just like everyone else, and we are having to cut our expenses. This has his hit our classroom as well as our personal lives so that we can no longer provide the funds for websites or many other activities that enriched our curriculum in the past. Sad times …

It allows us to see future assignments for reading and homework. It also allows us to see the grades received for homework, quizes and tests, as well as progress reports, field trip plans and to communicate directly with the teacher, if needed.

I think it integrates into the schools existing website.
