Come on, even the Wall St Journal editorial page, although I'm sure they'd be happy you're trying to pile on, would have to find this to be a pathetic effort, Enterprise.

"The opposite has happened."

Obama has ended Bush's torture. He would have closed Guantanamo if not blocked by Congress. He closed Bush's secret prison network around the world. He's ending Bush's two major, decade-long or more wars that have killed and maimed tens of thousands of Americans. And, if instead of attacking Obama for "allowing" leaks of national security information, the GOP had passed the press shield bill a couple of years ago, the press would have better protections now.

In an editorial where you try to defend the sanctity of press freedom, consider that readers may have more difficulty appreciating the need for special press protections when you abuse that right by utilizing lazy/sloppy/innaccurate assertions to bolster your argument. For example, there was no wiretapping in this case - it was phone records that were subpoenaed. And contrary to your assertion that Bush always carefully followed the law, both Wash. Post and NY Times reporter's phone records were obtained without subpoenas under Bush.
