The Cal Aggie Student Alumni Association invites UC Davis students, alumni, staff and community members to help kick off Homecoming Weekend at the 101st anniversary of Pajamarino on Friday, Oct. 11.

Pajamarino traces its roots back to 1912, when students sneaked out of their dorm rooms to meet alumni arriving on the train for Homecoming. Over the years, Pajamarino has grown into an event engaging students, alumni and the Davis community.

Guests at the family-friendly event are encouraged to wear pajamas to celebrate the tradition that students began 101 years ago. Activities include a pajama parade from Central Park to the Davis Amtrak Station, face painting, games, prizes, a pajama relay and free food.

This year’s event will feature performances from student groups, including the Cal Aggie Marching Band-uh, the Spirit Squad and Bakuhatsu Taiko Dan drummers.

The pajama parade begins at 5:15 p.m. at Central Park followed by the main event at 5:30 p.m. at the Davis Amtrak Station, 840 Second St. Participants in the parade are encouraged to arrive by 4:30 p.m. for check-in.

“Help us capture the spirit of Pajamarino by using #pajamarino101 when posting photos, status updates or tweets on your social media,” a news release said.
