41 DUI arrests made during holiday period

Local law enforcement officers arrested 41 motorists for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs between Dec. 13 and 27 in Yolo County, Davis police Sgt. Rod Rifredi reported. The arrests are part of the winter holiday crackdown launched by the Avoid the 8 task force.

Officers from the Davis, Woodland, Winters and West Sacramento police departments will be joined by Yolo County sheriff’s deputies and California Highway Patrol officers in patrolling┬áthe region’s streets and highways during the coming New Year’s holiday week.

Funding for the program is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
