Davis residents celebrated the Fourth of July from dawn till dusk on Friday, enjoying pancakes to support Davis Little League, watching professional cyclists speed around tight turns at the Fourth of July Davis Criterium, and capping off the day in Community Park at the city of Davis-sponsored fireworks display.

Among the most popular attractions every year is the Kiwanis Kiddie Parade, which makes its way through downtown Davis every Fourth of July morning. Standouts this year were Maisy Martin as the Statue of Liberty; Liliana Teague, 6, and her 1-year-old brother Charlie, being pulled in their rocket ship by their mom Stephanie, and cowboy Insee Ekstrom, 3.

The SkyDance SkyDiving Demonstration Team also performed as usual, but parachuted down to the Yolo County Airport instead of Community Park because of a dispute over insurance coverage with the city of Davis.
