A rural icon is gone

By From page A1 | July 13, 2014

Workmen have been dismantling a barn this week on the former Covell Village site northwest of the intersection of Covell Boulevard and Pole Line Road, board by board, in response to a structural engineer’s report saying that the unstable barn could collapse at any time. Barn timbers are being saved on pallets to be used by a local farmer to rebuild the barn. The property owners, the North Davis Land Company, say they have no plans to develop the Covell Village site but note that there has been a significant increase in illegal encampments on the property and young people climbing the loft and rafters of the barn in the past couple of years.
