By From page A1 | April 26, 2013

The Davis Spring Family Carnival sponsored by the Emerson Junior High School PTA kicked off Thursday with plenty of excitement. Kayla Peart and Ann Marie Tetteh, both 6, enjoyed taking a spin on one of many rides provided by Butler Amusements, while people of all ages can enjoy a trip on the caterpillar coaster. The good times roll deep into the night and weekend as the carnival continues through Sunday at the former Hunt-Wesson Cannery site, at J Street and Covell Boulevard. Hours are 4 to 11 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and noon to 10 p.m. Sunday. Carnival ride coupons also can be purchased onsite at the box office. Prices are $1 for individual coupons, 25 coupons for $23 and 80 coupons for $70. All rides require three to five coupons each.
