Acacias are the stars at Arboretum

By February 23, 2011

A free guided tour of the UC Davis Arboretum on Saturday will highlight blooming acacia trees, which are popular among gardeners for their masses of brilliant yellow flowers and honey-like fragrance. The tour starts at 2 p.m. at Arboretum Headquarters on LaRue Road on the UC Davis campus.

The Eric E. Conn Acacia Grove in the Arboretum includes more than 50 species of acacias from Australia, Africa and the Americas, in a wide variety of sizes, shapes, textures and hues.

Free parking is available in Lot 46, across the street from the headquarters. For more information, all (530) 752-4880 or visit arboretum.ucdavis.edu.
