Acme Theatre, Davis Dirt featured ‘In the Studio’

Acme Theatre Company and The Davis Dirt are currently highlighted on “In the Studio,” a program produced by Davis Media Access, the nonprofit media center serving Yolo County.

DMA produces four segments of “In the Studio” each month, using the recording sessions as a hands-on learning lab for local residents interested in media production. The show airs at 7 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sundays on DCTV, Comcast Channel 15, and on demand at Menu 99 on AT&T’s U-verse. Episode schedules are available and archived at dctv.davismedia.org.

Patrick Shearer hosts the Acme discussion with Sam Ramos, publicity director; Alina Lusebrink, stage manager; and Jake Kelly actor/publicity crew. Acme is a teen-run theater company that has been operating in Davis for 30-plus years. The trio talk about their experiences with Acme, explain the company’s goals and describe how to get involved. The episode will air Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday, July 15.

Shearer also hosts a discussion with Melanie Gentles and Annie Meckstroth, founders and editors of The Davis Dirt, a local entertainment monthly that is applying for nonprofit status. The episode airs July 17, 18 and 22.
