Community energy workshop slated

By From page A4 | June 12, 2012

Community Choice Energy, a new way to bring 100 percent clean energy to Yolo County, will be the subject of a public workshop from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Davis Senior Center, 646 A St.

A panel of experts will discuss the benefits and risks of community choice aggregation for Davis. They include Bill Julian, an energy lawyer who worked to annex Yolo County to SMUD; Shawn Marshall, former mayor of Mill Valley, who was instrumental in setting up the successful CCA Marin Clean Energy; and Bill Powers, author of the Bay Area Smart Energy 2020 strategic plan.

The workshop is co-sponsored by the city’s Natural Resources Commission, the Valley Climate Action Center and the Cool Davis Foundation.
