Field trip unlocks region’s geologic secrets

Local residents are invited to explore the geology of the region northwest of Davis with retired UC Davis geologist Eldridge Moores and his wife Judy on a circle route from Davis to the Cache Creek Canyon and back.

At each stop, in addition to learning about the geology, participants will enjoy brief readings to add to the wonder to the place.

The trip is scheduled for 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday. Travel will be by car pools, and participants will need bring their own lunches.

The suggested donation is $30 to $40 per participant. All proceeds will go to the Unitarian Universalist Church of Davis to support habitat restoration, eco-justice and other environmental work.
