Learn how to bake flatbread at Farmers Market

A free, hands-on bread making workshop is planned from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Davis Farmers Market, Fourth and C strets. Bring the family to learn how to thresh and mill whole-wheat grain and transform it into a delicious, wood-fired oven-baked flatbread.

The workshop is hosted by the Davis Farm to School Connection, CaffĂ© Italia’s Pizzas with a Purpose and the Hoes Down Harvest Festival. For more information, email [email protected] or visit www.hoesdown.org/childrens-area.html.

The 24th annual Hoes Down Harvest Festival takes place Saturday, Oct. 1, in the Capay Valley, offering farm tours, children’s activities, hands-on workshops, farm products and an abundance of organic food, live music and good times. Learn more at www.hoesdown.org.
