Monsanto documentary screens Thursday

By From page A4 | November 29, 2011

Big Screen Cinema and LabelGMOs will screen the documentary film “The World According to Monsanto” this week in the Blanchard Room at the Stephens Branch Library, 315 E. 14th St. in Davis. The film will be shown at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

“From Iowa to Paraguay, from England to India, Monsanto is uprooting our food supply and replacing it with their patented genetically engineered creations,” says Rodney Robinson, who is sponsoring the screening. “Along the way, farmers, communities and nature become collateral damage.”

Genetic engineering of food crops is as controversial today as ever, as many of the large agro corporations that use this technology position themselves as a false answer to the world food crisis and further their consolidation of the food seed supply worldwide, Robinson says is a news release.
