Picnic swings with The Undulations

By From page A3 | September 25, 2011

Post-modern swing music will fill Central Park on Wednesday as The Undulations perform from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Picnic in the Park. The Undulations, which have produced six albums since 1985, perform regularly throughout Northern California.

The Davis Farmers Market will be open in the park, Third and C streets, from  4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Shoppers will find a full array of seasonal produce, including melons, tomatoes, corn, strawberries, peaches, nectarines, apples, grapes, avocados, string beans, bok choy, greens, lettuces, herbs, carrots and potatoes plus local free-range eggs, cheese, honey, olive oil, jams, dried fruit, nuts, wine and flowers.

An international food fair offers lots of choices, from Caffé Italia’s “Pizzas with a Purpose” to benefit the Davis Farm to School Connection to hot dogs, pizza and Thai food. Members of Soroptimist International of Davis will pour beer and wine, with proceeds to benefit local charities.

Children’s entertainment includes the bicycle-powered carousel, Rocknasium’s climbing structure, bounce houses, face painting and balloon-maker Dilly Dally the Clown.
