Renters can get energy-saving ideas

Lisa Baker, executive director of Yolo County Housing, will share tips for low carbon solutions and energy savings for landords and tenants at the Cool Davis Initiative table at Wednesday’s Picnic in the Park.

She’ll be at the table from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in Central Park, Fourth and C streets. Cool Davis will have a presence at the market on Wednesdays and Saturdays this month, offering ideas for saving money, reducing your carbon footprint and living a healthy lifestyle.

Visitors to the booth can sign up for the Cool California Challenge. Davis is competing against several other cities through July to be named the Coolest City in California. Local residents who bring evidence of signing up for the challenge will receive a One Cool City sticker to plant their flag on the city of Davis map.
