A special Arbor Day plant sale is planned by the Gibson Gardeners from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday to benefit the Yolo County Historical Museum, 512 Gibson Road in Woodland.
Children are invited to participate in Arbor Day celebrations starting at 11:30 a.m. when memorial trees and roses will be planted in the historic museum garden, which dates to 1857. Families may participate in a scavenger hunt, and tours of the museum’s gardens and outbuildings will be offered.
Included in the early spring plant sale will be special succulent gardens and gift items as well as a wide selection of herbs, native plants, scented geraniums, bulbs, flowers, trees, shrubs, garden seeds and dried herbs.
University of California Master Gardeners will be present to answer gardening questions and to give hands-on instruction regarding plant propagation.
