Argument escalates to shooting in Winters

An argument at 3 p.m. Saturday between two men in Winters ended with gunshots near Third and Baker streets.

Winters police and fire personnel were dispatched to the scene where they treated the 49-year-old victim for a gunshot wound. He was taken to the Kaiser Hospital emergency room in Vacaville where doctors determined that his injuries were non-life-threatening.

The suspect, identified as 54-year-old Douglas Bledsoe, a transient and former Winters resident, was found in the 600 block of Third Street. Bledsoe was arrested without further incident and a handgun was recovered police. He was charged with attempted murder and several other firearm violations and was booked at the Yolo County Jail.
