Thousands of people jammed the Veterans Memorial Center on Saturday afternoon to celebrate the third annual International Festival with the theme “Unity in Diversity.” The free event, presented by International House, Davis, featured song and dance from around the world, arts and crafts sales, international food, games for children and 27 “country tables” displaying cultural artifacts from around the globe.

Tererai Trent, a Zimbabwean woman who has been described as living proof of the power of dreams and the potential of education to break the cycle of poverty, was the guest speaker at the festival.
