Arrest made in Woodland robbery

By May 11, 2011

Woodland police announced Tuesday an arrest in the Mother’s Day robbery of a Woodland sandwich shop.

Jason Dale McKim, 33, of Woodland, was found hiding in a Dumpster behind a business on County Road 102 in Woodland and taken into custody, Sgt. Steve Guthrie said in a news release. He was lodged at the Yolo County Jail on robbery charges.

The robbery occurred shortly before 10 p.m. Sunday at a Subway sandwich shop in the 300 block of California Street. Employees were in a back room preparing to close the business when they heard noises coming from the cash register area.

A female employee encountered the suspect, who threatened the worker with a knife and ordered her to open the cash register, police said. By then, the register was broken and wouldn’t open, so the suspect carried it out of the store.
