Art and film lovers are invited to watch “Pollock,” a biopic of Jackson Pollock, an abstract expressionist painter who struggles with his own demons while trying to navigate the art world. The R-rated film will be screened at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Pence Gallery, 212 D St. in downtown Davis.
Ed Harris plays Pollock and Marcia Gay Harden stars as his wife and fellow artist Lee Krasner.
“It’s a fascinating look at the artist’s life and work, as well as mid-20th century art,” says Natalie Nelson, executive director of the Pence Gallery.
Admission is $5 general and $3 for Pence members. Refreshments will be available, and no RSVPs are necessary.
