Assembly Speaker John A. Pérez, a candidate for state controller, will address the Davis Democratic Club at its annual “Love Your Electeds” valentine event, which honors Democrats who serve in elected offices. The event will run from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, at International House, 10 College Park in Davis.

“We are very excited to have (Pérez) at our ‘Love Your Electeds’ event as we salute our state senator, Assembly member, county supervisors, City Council and Board of Education members,” said Democratic Club president Arun Sen. “Come and say thanks for their valuable and dedicated service to the city of Davis, Yolo County and the state of California.”

Candidates for the June primary election are also expected. And Sen, who is retiring as president, will be honored for his long service to the club.

A buffet supper is planned. Club members are asked to bring a favorite dish — those with last initials beginning with A-J a salad with bread or side dish, K-R a main dish and S-Z dessert. The suggested donation at the door will be $15 per person and $5 for students.

For details, contact vice president Mike Syvanen at 530-752-4991 or [email protected].
