Auditions set this weekend for Barnyard Theatre

By
From page A9 | May 22, 2012 |

Barnyard Theatre will be holding auditions for its summer productions Sunday and Monday, May 28.

The company will present a mainstage production of Meghan Brown’s “Psyche,” a darkly humorous retelling of the Greek myth, and a workshop of Briandaniel Oglesby’s “Dammed,” an original work being developed about a family’s struggle to come together during the last days of Monticello before the town was bulldozed to make way for Lake Berryessa.

Both plays will be performed in late July and early August at the historic Schmeiser barn west of Davis.

Individual auditions will be held in 10-minute time slots from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, with callbacks from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, May 28. Auditioners are asked to prepare a brief (one- to two-minute) monologue from any genre to perform at the individual audition.

For more information about the plays or to sign up for auditions, visit www.barnyardtheatre.org/join/audition.

The company is also fundraising for its summer productions. Visit www.kickstarter.com and search for “Barnyard Theatre” to make a donation.
