One of the finest small Baroque ensembles in the Bay Area will perform at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Davis Community Church, 412 C St. in downtown Davis.
The four musicians of Musica Pacifica will present “La Bizzaria,” featuring music of lesser-known 17th century Italian composers Turini, Frescobaldi, Falconieri, Castello, Vitali and others.
Musica Pacifica combines world-class musicianship with a spirited, communicative performance style. An evening with Musica Pacifica spotlights the unique talents of each musician and combines them in diverse groupings within the ensemble.
“Musica Pacifica has performed to rave reviews in the U.S. and Europe,” said David Deffner, the church’s music director. “We are delighted to offer this concert to the community as a part of this year’s concert series.”
The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. (note that the time differs from past events.) Half of the $10 suggested donation supports the DCC Concert Series and half supports local and international charitable organizations.
