Bike to breakfast on Thursday

By From page A5 | May 14, 2014

After a two-year hiatus, the Bike-to-Work Breakfast returns to Central Park in Davis from 7 to 9 a.m. Thursday. The event is a long-standing part of Bike Month celebrations during May.

According to Bob Andosca, executive director of Yolo Transportation Management Association, this year’s breakfast is expected to attract the largest crowd yet.

“We’ve seen May Is Bike Month continue to grow year over year since it began 10 years ago,” he said. “This year it’s taking off like a rocket, and we expect that we’ll see more than 200 cyclists join us at the breakfast.”

Registration for breakfast is not necessary, but organizers emphasize that participants must arrive by bicycle and, they hope, will be commuting to work via bike. For information, check the May Is Bike Month website calendar of events (www.mayisbikemonth.com), or contact Yolo TMA at [email protected]
