Bingo benefits Concilio scholarships

Looking for something fun to do on Sunday? Join the Davis Odd Fellows for their Second Sunday Bingo fundraiser and enjoy a fun-filled day of bingo with all proceeds going to the Mexican American Concilio of Yolo County.

The mission of the Concilio is to provide support and assistance to low-income students in Yolo County, specifically those of Latino heritage, through college scholarships. This year, the group will award 55 scholarships and grants to students from area high schools.

The Concilio also supports a summer soccer league for residents of the migrant centers in Davis, Woodland, Madison, Winters and Dixon. They play every Sunday during the summer at their centers. At the season’s end, the Concilio hosts a soccer tournament, which last year took place at Playfields Park in Davis.

Bingo takes place in the Odd Fellows Hall, at 415 Second St. in downtown Davis. Cash prizes up to $250 per game, for a total of $1,000, are awarded. Doors open at noon and games start at 1 p.m. Bingo cards start at $12.
