Bingo Bike-a-thon benefits Bicycling Hall of Fame

By From page A7 | September 22, 2013

With temperatures expected in high 70s, the mostly sunny outlook Sunday will be enhanced by the presence of Radio Disney’s Team Green performance in Davis’ Central Park, from noon to 1:30 p.m.

The lively show will be part of the family event called Bingo Bike-a-thon.

A family bike ride through the UC Davis campus starts anytime after 10:30 a.m. with check-in at the south end of Central Park.

Riders will be given bingo cards featuring campus artwork icons and school landmarks. Once the 15 locations have been checked off, families are invited to turn their cards in and instantly become eligible for prizes to be given away during the Radio Disney show.

The ride also is a fundraiser for the U.S. Bicycling Hall of Fame youth programs. Should riders want to pledge money to the cycling shrine, if those pledges equal $100 or more, those participants are eligible for the grand prize drawing — a two-day, two-night trip for four to Disneyland/California Adventure (lodging at the Disneyland Hotel included).

All others, regardless of pledging or not, are eligible to win a new bicycle from Ken’s Bike/Ski & Board and two sets of Disneyland/California Adventure passes.
