Birding trip to Yuba County rescheduled for Sunday

The Yolo Audubon Society has rescheduled its bird-watching trip to Yuba County’s rice-growing area with its large populations of wintering waterfowl, shorebirds and ibis.
The free field trip will take place Sunday and also will include a tour of grasslands and foothills to look for raptors and other open-country species. If time and weather permit, the group will bird the montane habitats. Plans for the trip include staying long enough to look for owls in the evening.
Participants should plan for a full-day trip. Leader John Sterling will meet participants at 7 a.m. in The Marketplace shopping center parking lot, 1411 W. Covell Blvd. in Davis.
Participants are welcome to join the group for part or all of the day. They should bring binoculars, spotting scopes, snacks, lunch and beverages for a full day of bird watching.
