The Yolo County Board of Supervisors has endorsed Measure I, the local ballot measure to diversify Davis’ water supply with a project to be undertaken jointly with Woodland. The supervisor joins local environmental groups Tuleyome, Yolo Audubon Society, Yolo Clean Air and the UC Davis Society for Conservation Biology, as well as the Davis Chamber of Commerce, as supporters of Measure I.
The board voted 3-2 in favor of a resolution that was brought to the board by Supervisors Jim Provenza and Don Saylor, both of Davis. Supervisor Mike McGowan of West Sacramento joined Provenza and Saylor in voting yes. Supervisors Matt Rexroad of Woodland and Duane Chamberlain of the rural 5th District voted no. However, both said they support Measure I but they do not believe the board should take a position on it.
