Breast cancer risk is topic of free talk

By From page A4 | October 31, 2012

“Dinner and Drinks — Modeling How Lifestyle Factors Affect Breast Development and Breast Cancer Risk” is the title of Russ Hovey’s talk at the next Breast Cancer Open Door educational program. The free meeting begins at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, at the University Covenant Church, 315 Mace Blvd.

Hovey, an associate professor in the UC Davis department of animal sciences, will discuss how breast development is regulated and how it influences everything from milk production to breast cancer risk.

The Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization has closed its doors. The local program will depend on donations that will be under the educational arm of Breast Cancer Care and Research Fund, a 501 (c)(3) organization. Donations may be made to BCCRF, 900 Kent Drive, Davis, CA 95616.
