By From page A4 | July 16, 2013

Due to bridge removal and replacement over Buckeye Creek, County Road 89 from Road 4 to Road 1 north of Dunnigan will be closed to through traffic beginning Wednesday and continuing until January. Detour signs will direct motorists to an alternate route through Roads 4, 99W and 1.

Access to properties along the closed section of the road will be provided at all times, a county news release said. This project will replace the existing structurally deficient and scour-critical bridge.

The project will cost an estimated $1.17 million and will be funded with federal Highway Bridge Program funds. The low bid contractor is Shasta Constructors Inc. of Redding.
