49er Scale Masters radio-control airplane competition set May 4-6

The public is invited to attend the Woodland Davis Aeromodelers annual 49er Regional Scale Masters Qualifier from May 4 to 6.

Scale-model reproductions of full-size aircraft ranging from World War I and World War II to sport and contemporary aircraft will be flown and judged on how close they fly to the full-size aircraft. Static judging starts at noon Friday, May 4, and runs until 4 p.m. On Saturday, May 5, the planes will fly from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and again from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, May 6.

Winners of this event will compete at the nationals later this year. Admission is free and open to the public. Food and drink may be obtained at the field.

The Woodland Davis Model Airplane Field is northeast of Davis on County Road 29, 1.3 miles east of County Road 102. Visit www.wdarc.org for more information.
