Nature Play productions will be casting on Friday in Davis for its upcoming play, “The Kids from Planet Earth.” There are five adult roles and four for youths ages 12 to 22.

The play, which is supported by the Yolo-Solano Air Quality Management District, will be performed this fall at 12 elementary schools in Yolo and Solano counties.

“The Kids from Planet Earth” reaches its youthful audience with comedy, helping them become more aware of sustainable living concepts, like walking, riding bikes and recycling.

Auditions will run from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday at Davis Community Church, 412 C St. Performances will take place during school hours, so young actors will need to miss six to seven days of class or be home-schooled. Audition appointments may be made by emailing [email protected], or interested actors may simply show up.

Producers also are looking for people to help out behind the scenes with stage-managing, props and costumes.

The play is a prequel to a web series that was shot in the area last summer. The web series is in post-production and is scheduled for release in the fall.
