Sheila Allen, a candidate for Davis City Council, will kick off her campaign with a fundraiser Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the home of Delaine Eastin, 4228 Dogwood Place in Davis.

Allen is public health nurse with experience as a visiting nurse, a professor and a public health administrator. She is currently the executive director of the nonprofit Yolo Healthy Aging Alliance. She also served for 10 years as a First 5 Yolo commissioner and as chair of the Yolo County Health Council.

She is finishing up her second term on the Davis Board of Education.

The suggested donation, to be collected at the door, is $40 per person or $20 for senior citizens and students. Sponsorships are available for $100.

For more information about Allen’s campaign, visit www.sheilaallen.org or her Facebook page (Sheila-Allen-For-City-Council).
