Sheila Allen will formally announce her campaign for Davis City Council at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, near the Flying Carousel of the Delta Breeze in Central Park. Supporters are invited to celebrate with her.

She will be the fourth candidate to announce their bids for two open seats on the council. Joining her in the field are incumbent Rochelle Swanson, public health professional and bicycle advocate Robb Davis and solar entrepreneur Daniel Parrella. Election Day is June 3.

Allen has served on the Davis Board of Education for the past nine years, but recently announced that she would not be seeking re-election to the board this year.

She also has announced her first council campaign fundraiser, “A Taste of the World.” It will run from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, at the home of Delaine Eastin, former state superintendent of public instruction, 4228 Dogwood Place.

To RSVP, email sheilaallencitycouncil@yahoo.com or visit Sheila Allen Davis City Council on Facebook.
