Amateur radio groups compete to reach around the world

Three Yolo County amateur radio groups will participate in a field day and the largest on-the-air event in North America from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the UC Davis Airport, off Hopkins Road south of Hutchison Drive.

Radio operators will use voice, Morse code and radio teletype to make contacts around the world. For more information, visit http://www.yars.org/schedule.html.
