Amateur radio operators put to the test

By From page A3 | June 27, 2014

Local amateur radio operators — who play a vital role in communications for major special events and emergencies — will test their ability to communicate with other radio stations independent of utilities or other services at a 24-hour Field Day on Saturday, June 28.

The public is invited to observe from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the University Airport at UC Davis.

The event is sponsored by the Yolo Amateur Radio Society, the Yolo County Amateur Radio Emergency Service and UC Davis Amateur Radio Communications.
