Americans, internationals make connections

By From page A7 | April 23, 2015

Every Wednesday morning at 10:30 a.m., a group of American women and international women meet for coffee and treats in the Community Room at International House, 10 College Park in Davis.

This is a free social hour where parents are invited to bring their babies and young children. It’s usually women, but men are welcome, too. Guests are invited to bring a treat from their home country and be prepared to share the recipe.

Free parking is available in the lot to the north of the house.

“In fact, the Connections group pre-dates the creation of International House,” an I-House spokesman said. “It was formed under a different name in the 1950s when the wives of professors realized that the wives of international scholars were left with little to do and might be bored or lonely.”

All I-House events are open to the public.
