Annual radio control airplane competition

The public is invited to the Woodland Davis Aeromodelers’ annual 49er Regional Scale Masters Qualifier, which runs Friday, May 3, to Sunday, May 5.

Visitors will see scale reproductions of full-size aircraft ranging from WWI, WWII, sport and contemporary aircraft. They planes be flown and judged on how close they fly to the full-size aircraft. Static judging runs noon to 4 p.m. Friday, May 3. Flying runs 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 4, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, May 5. Winners will compete at the nationals later this year.

In conjunction with the Scale Masters there is also a precision stunt control line contest happening as well.

These events are at the Woodland Davis Aeromodelers’ flying site on County Road 29, 1.3 miles east of County Road 102. Admission is free and open to the public. Visit www.wdarc.org for more information.
