By From page A5 | September 12, 2014

Once again, the city of Davis will present the “Davis Children’s Nutcracker” in December. This longtime Davis tradition takes audiences through the exciting story of a young girl, Clara, who dreams of a Nutcracker Prince and a fierce battle against a Mouse King.

The city invites all children ages 6 to 12 to apply for one of 250 parts in the annual production. Rehearsals begin Dec. 1 and performances will take place Wednesday, Dec. 17, through Sunday, Dec. 21.

Applications must be submitted to the Community Services Department, 600 A St., Suite C, by 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26. Applications received after the deadline will not be considered. Names are drawn by lottery. Applicants must be 6 years old by Dec. 1, 2014.

Applications are available in the Fall Recreation Class Schedule, at the counter of the Community Services Office or online at http://cityofdavis.org.

Applications for volunteers are also being accepted through Sept 19. For more information, call 530-757-5626.
