Arboretum plant clearance sale set

By From page A4 | May 15, 2013

The last spring plant sale of the season will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the UC Davis Arboretum Teaching Nursery on Garrod Drive on campus. Customers will find the area’s largest selection of attractive, low-water, easy-care, region-appropriate plants, including Arboretum All-Stars.

This plant “clearance” sale also will showcase 30 “Durable Delights,” plants that demand little of our time but give a big return in form, color, flower and durability.

Members of the Friends of the UCD Arboretum will receive 10 percent off all purchases, and new members also receive an additional $10 off. For more information, visit http://arboretum.ucdavis.edu/join_the_friends.aspx.

The Friends also are collecting used spades, trowels and shovels of all kinds for a campus and city sculpture project.
