By From page A4 | April 21, 2013

Cool Davis Initiative members invite the public to celebrate Earth Day and John Muir’s 175th birthday on Sunday, April 21, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Davis Community Church, 412 C St.

The afternoon features Davis author Kim Stanley Robinson with a slide show talk on “John Muir: the Writer, Scientist and Public Figure.” During the presentation, Nature’s Theater will guide children ages 4-10 on an adventure outing.

Cool Davis will present its 2013 Eco Hero and Cool Solution Awards, followed by a reception with birthday cake and party favors.

Guests who bring their own snack container and/or walk, bike or ride the bus earn a chance to win a prize. “Birthday gifts” of $5 to $10 to further Cool Davis’ environmental work are appreciated.
