By From page A3 | February 26, 2013

Noted local science fiction writer Kim Stanley Robinson will talk about the life and work of John Muir at 4:10 p.m. Tuesday at the Alumni & Visitors Center on the UC Davis campus. Robinson will analyze Muir’s work as a writer and how he translated that career into such astonishing feats of public policy. A faculty panel will respond with perspectives on Muir’s writing and career.

The event is open to the public and will end with a discussion on how we might learn from Muir’s example to take effective environmental action now. For more information, visit http://johnmuir.ucdavis.edu
