The beloved “Peanuts” comic strip continues to publish in many newspapers long after the death of its creator, Charles M. Schulz.

Derrick Bang, former entertainment editor of The Davis Enterprise, has written numerous books about Schulz and “Peanuts,” including the critically praised “50 Years of Happiness: A Tribute to Charles M. Schulz” and a volume that focuses on the cartoonist’s early work, “Charles M. Schulz: Li’l Beginnings.”

Bang will speak at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Davis Senior Center, 646 A St. Admission is free and the public is invited.
