The Yolo County Backpacks for Kids organization is collecting donations for its eighth annual fundraising drive.

Since 2007, Backpacks for Kids has provided more than 8,000 quality backpacks and school supplies for children in need. Donations to Backpacks for Kids are used solely for Yolo County children.

This year’s collection drive runs through Aug. 15.

The Friends of the Woodland Library, Woodland Staples and Yolo County Supervisor Don Saylor have offered to be drop-off locations. Bins can be found in the main lobbies of the Woodland Public Library, 250 First St.; Woodland Staples, 1770 E. Main St.; and Saylor’s office at 600 A St. in Davis.

For more information or to make a donation online, visit www.yolobackpacks.org.
