Bat lecture set at Senior Center

By From page A5 | February 22, 2013

Bats are voracious predators of nocturnal insects, including many that are agricultural pests. Learn about the natural history of bats, with an emphasis on their importance in helping to control pests on farms in Yolo County, at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Davis Senior, 646 A Street.

The program is presented by Rachael Long, who has been studying bats and their benefits for more than 20 years. Long is the author of “Gold Fever,” a book that brings children into a world of bats in a highly adventurous way.

For information or to sign up for the program, call 530-757-5696. More information on Senior Center programs can be found at www.cityofdavis.org.
