By From page A3 | April 21, 2013

Looking for plants and spring garden items? Or need a gift for a gardener?

The Birch Lane Elementary School PTA’s annual spring garden sale will take place from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the school, 1600 Birch Lane. Sign in at the office before visiting the sale.

The sale features a variety of Baker Creek heirloom plants, including Costoluto Genovese and black cherry tomatoes, Leutschauer peppers, additional vegetables, flowers — including California giant zinnias — succulents and more.

The majority of the plants are propagated by students. Other succulents and plants have been donated by Davis gardeners.

Garden items include spring pottery, student crafts and Kokedama string gardens. Local artists donated hand-crafted note cards, pottery and birdhouses.

All proceeds go to Birch Lane School gardening programs.
