Blues giant Guitar Shorty at The Palms

By
From page A8 | December 06, 2012 |

Incandescent bluesman and ace performer Guitar Shorty will play 8:30 p.m. Saturday at the Palms Playhouse, 13 Main St., in Winters. Tickets are $20.

Guitar Shorty is a giant in the blues world. Credited with influencing both Jimi Hendrix, who was Shorty’s brother-in-law, and Buddy Guy, Guitar Shorty has been electrifying audiences for five decades with his supercharged live shows and his incendiary recordings.

When playing, Shorty occasionally leaps into the air or breaks into spontaneous double-quick dance steps that bespeak his love of music and performing.

Tickets are available at Armadillo Music in Davis, Watermelon Music in Woodland, Pacific Ace Hardware in Winters and at the door if not sold out. For more information, call 530-795-1825 or visit palmsplayhouse.com or guitarshorty.org.
