Breast cancer open door meeting set

Alexander “Sandy” Borowsky, M.D., will speak on “The Doctor You Never See” at the Breast Cancer Open Door educational meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9.

Dr. Borowsky, associate professor of pathology at the UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center, will discuss what happens to the breast tissue after it is removed. He will also present the ATHENA breast cancer program, a joint project of five UC Breast Cancer Programs, Davis, San Francisco, UCLA, Irvine and San Diego. There will be a time for questions and answers.
The educational program, sponsored by the Breast Cancer Care and Research Fund, will be held at the University Covenant Church, 315 Mace Blvd., at Alhambra Boulevard.

Each month these meetings provide information on some aspect of breast cancer or women’s health. Breast cancer does not discriminate. The meetings are not limited to breast cancer survivors, but are open and free of charge to anyone who is interested in learning more about women’s health issues.
