Buy a bike license at Picnic in the Park

California bicycle licenses will be for sale from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Picnic in the Park in Central Park.

A bike license may help prevent theft and aids in recovery by entering your bike into a statewide system of identification and recovery. It is also required of all bicycles operated on the UC Davis campus.

A new registration costs $10 and a renewal is $5. The registration is valid through Dec. 31, 2015. No proof of ownership is required, and cash or checks may be accepted for payment.

Picnic in the Park visitors who arrive by bike and stop by the goBike booth with their bike, helmet or other evidence of having pedaled to the park will be given a free “market buck” good for $1 off any purchase at the event. One buck per cyclist.

Bike registration is available year-round on campus at UCD Transportation and Parking Services and in town at Ken’s Bike-Ski-Board, B&L Bike Shop and the Green Bicycle Depot. For more information, call 530-752-2453.
