The Yolo County Cabrillo Civic Club will host its annual Heritage Dinner and Celebration of Cabrillo Day on Saturday, Sept. 29, at the Holy Rosary Community Center, 575 California St. in Woodland. Doors open at 6 p.m. for a no-host social hour and dinner will be served at 7 p.m.

A special appearance by Anthony Barcellos, local Portuguese author of “The Land of Milk and Honey,” is planned, and the Cabrillo Club Member of the Year will be honored.

The menu will be the traditional Portuguese sopas with salads and dessert. The cost is $15 for adults, $10 for juniors ages 12-18, $5 for children ages 7-12 and free for children under 7. Members are asked to bring a raffle prize. A silent auction will benefit the club’s scholarship fund.

For reservations, call before Sept. 26: Betty Cadwallader at 530-662-1997 or Arlene Amaral at 530-908-8019.
